Sorry I have been a little absent, I’ve been slammed!
I have been sitting on my thoughts for a couple of weeks now wondering how I would sum up the experience of the Whole30. Words can’t really do justice to the feeling Kelly and I had at the end of this journey. (more…)
Day 30 is finally here.
We made it, and I have to say I think we look at feel pretty great. Today was a pretty average day. We didn’t eat anything crazy we took it easy and just had a peaceful day. (more…)
So sometimes the day gets away from you and you really don’t want to slave in the kitchen, that’s OK!
Have some recipes in your arsenal that are easy and no fuss, trust me on this it will make your “diet” that much easier.
Here is a chicken recipe I use:
2-4 chicken breast (1 lbs.)
2 teaspoon Pepper
1 Tablespoon Basil
1 Tablespoon Oregano
1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder
1 teaspoon Rosemary
1 teaspoon Sage
1 teaspoon Parsley
3 teaspoons Olive Oil (enough to drizzle over chicken)
Mix all dry ingredients together. Place chicken in a 9×13 baking dish and drizzle olive oil evenly over the chicken, feel fee to get you hands a little dirty to spread it out. Spice the chicken with the dry ingredients evenly. Once spiced cover the dish with tin foil and bake in the oven at 375 degrees for around 25-30 minutes or until the internal temperature of the chicken 170 degrees (if you are not sure).
Enjoy!
There are a couple of version of this gem, which seems like we used all the time.
Spicy Mustard Dipping Sauce
2 tablespoons homemade mayo
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1 teaspoon basil
1/2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
2 teaspoons grainy mustard
Mustard Dipping Sauce
2 tablespoons homemade mayo
1 teaspoon basil
1/2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
2 teaspoons grainy mustard
Kelly found this recipe from Civilized Caveman Cooking (civilizedcavemancooking.com)
It was really good and as usual with the slow cooking, nice and easy!
We ate it with 3 cups of broccoli and mustard dipping sauce.
Thanks Civilized Caveman and Kelly for cooking this creation!
Day 29.
It’s a great day to be alive. It’s Friday for starters and we are feeling excellent. There has been a shift in my household on the way we think about food, and I love it! (more…)
Here we are day 28.
We are into a routine and have been for about ten days now. We know what food we can eat and we know what we like. We set a strict menu for the first three weeks, but we have relaxed it a little bit since. (more…)
Day 27.
I just can’t believe it is Day 27. We are feeling so great, the changes the Whole30 offers is absolutely amazing. Kelly looks like she has lost a ton of weight. I am frankly amazed at my mental capacity lately. I feel like I am kicking Organic Chemistry in the face! (more…)
Day 26!
We are really in the final stretch here and it’s almost time to start game planning the re-introduction phase. I’ll talk more about that closer to Day 30 but I am geared up to continue to eat healthy. (more…)
